The James Baldwin Society of NCCU seeks to advance Baldwin scholarship among young and emerging HBCU graduate and undergraduate scholars. The organization aims to provide opportunities for dialogue and discussion of essays, novels, plays, short fiction, speeches, and digital recordings by the author that inform current discourse on race, gender, sexuality, and nationalism.  The JBSNCCU  exists to support the development of critical race thinkers, student activists, burgeoning literary scholars, and students generally interested in the work of James Baldwin.
